having a bad day? Take a shower, go to a pool, to the beach, to a lake, a pound, to a river, a water fall, a bath tub… water is a miraculous healer!!

The speech
I have mentioned some blogs ago how the work as a
teacher can be rewarding. How nice it is to share one´s
knowledge and be useful in someone´s life. But I think
I didn´t mention that I learn a lot too. From people.
I am deeply in love with this group I have on Saturday
mornings. First because it is logical that, someone who
attends a course on a Saturday morning really likes what
one does. That means enthusiasm, and I love enthusiastic
people . And they are creative and funny- therefore they
neither doze off nor daydream during class..
One of them presented a speech today. It was on the
origins of the Halloween… She had asked me if she
could do it after the first break , so that she
could ‘prepare’ the classroom…
Coming back from the break, I saw a curious crowd in
front of the classroom door, leaning their heads to see
something apparently nice…and it was more than nice,
it was amazing! She had lit two red candles and a
pumpkin on my desk. On the walls, fliers showing
halloween simbols and their meanings. On each student
desk, a little witch hat- some candy underneath them-
and a brochure with a brief summary and some recipes in
it. On the computer… Enya- Watermark!
During her passionate explanation, I could not help
thinking how blessed I was for being there. Someone has
prepared something so carefully, I just thought of the
time she had spent doing all those research and little
details. And I remembered of the things in life that may
be so small, but mean so much! I knew my constant smile
and attentive eyes were what she needed as reward. And
it all was so sincere…
To end it, she served each one of us some portion..ok,
that was wine- good, by the way! Do I have to mention
her grade now?
Next week we´ll go to an art gallery. Let´s see if I
find something interesting to tell you all. Let´s see if
I post something before that too!
Take care you all
Sometimes we need to hear good things about the place we live to remember it’s a good place. Sometimes we get so hopeless due to the everyday news, and the lack of capability of paying attention to all beautiful things that surround us and we take them for granted just because we are used to them. So a friend sent me a list of good things going on in my country, which I’d like to share, even though I know most of them might not interest you, but they are for me. Allow me to be a bit nationalist.

Brazil is the most successful country fighting AIDS.
We are the only country in the south hemisphere participating in the “Genoma Project.”
My city, Curitiba, is considered to be one of the best of the world to live considering quality of live.
Even being a developing country, Brazilians represent 40% of the internet users in all Latin America.
97,3% of our children between 7 and 14 years old are studying.
The cell phone market in Brazil is the second largest in the world, 650 new cell phone lines every month. And 5th place on regular phones.
6890 Brazilian enterprises have the ISO 9000 Quality Certificate, the highest rate among the developing countries; neighbors such as Argentina has only 256 enterprises with the same quality level.
Brazil is the second biggest producer of airplanes and private jets.
70% of the population dedicates some time to volunteer work.
We are the third biggest democracy in the world.
We are a country that gathers people from different races, colors and religions in peace, the biggest country in South America linked by only one language, Portuguese.
Once again, it might not interest you, but it was posted for me to feel a little bit better about the place I live.
This was posted by GaucheAngel. I trully agree!! Don´t prop me, go see him!
A quote and a wish
– Thomas Peters
Life is pretty simple: You do some stuff. Most fails. some works. If it works big, others quickly copy it. Then you do something else. The trick is the doing something else. The simple act of paying positive attention to people has a great deal to do with productivity.

Almost a holiday…
Tomorrow is not a holiday, but it is the Teacher´s Day here. Is there any other place in the world where teachers have a day to be remembered?- I would really like to know
I´m one, if you don´t know. And I must say it is one of the most rewarding professions, specially if one likes what one does- my case! It is nice to think that I´m putting my seed in someone´s mind, or that I´m useful in someone´s life.. even if it is for a semester
I´m not the kind of tutor(let me put it this way) who stands in front of a board holding a piece of chalk and an angry look… I think I have fun when working. I also learn from people I teach..
There won´t be classes tomorrow. We´ll hang out instead.. That is very Brazilian.. We wait for any excuse to party…I don´t complain!!
You all, take care.. I´m still a little bit busy to blog, so I declare this will be a reading-blog week!
Take care you all! Have a great week!!
Ps: Don´t forget to pay comete a visit tomorrow…It is her birthday!
You can still be free
Cool bleeze and autumn leaves
Slow motion daylight
A lone pair of watchful eyes
Oversee the living
Feel the presence all around
A tortured soul
A wound unhealing
No regrets or promises
The past is gone
But you can still be free
Time now to spread your wings
To take a flight
The life endeavor
Aim for the burning sun
You trapped inside
But you can still be free
But it´s a long way to go
Keep moving way up high
You see the light
It shines forever
Sail through the crimson skies
The purest light
The light that sets you free
If time will set you free
This is to my beloved one. I´m sorry for not writing you something mine, but you are already used to the way I like telling you things. To all of them! I wish I could see you here more often rather than in backstage… I wish you could have more fun with me.. I wish you really understand the things I do. I wish you feel how much I love you.
Party time!
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday dear Gauche Angel
Happy birthday to you
BOO!!!
Yes, for someone who had sworn that didn´t like those kinds of emode tests… guess I´m not that convincing!
Well, as everyone is in the Halloween-mood thing, Just wanted to take this one. Funny!
Shy, there’s a Vampire lurking inside of you!
The vampire is your monster match—the dentally endowed child of the night. This Halloween, take a nap during the day so you can make it from dusk ’til dawn. Like the “undead” themselves, you demonstrate eternal youth and an appetite for living that is contagious (no biting necessary). When the sun goes down, you have an uncanny sense of where to be and when to show up.
Even if you decide to strap on the udders and dress as a dairy cow, you still have a certain suave gracefulness that permeates even the silliest of costumes. Lay off the garlic and you’ll have no trouble getting that special victim back to your coffin for a little nibble. Pace yourself Vampires, you’re going to need to save a little energy for the day after. Dracula can’t see his reflection in the mirror, but luckily, you can. So don’t forget to freshen up a little after your Halloween weekend.
Weird is that I have always loved Vampire tales… One of my favorite books is Interview with a Vampire and I think I have watched Bram Stocker´s Dracula over a hundred times… Some people don´t get why and where I find beauty, sensuality and passion in Vampire stories, but it is just like taking their essence… There is beauty in darkness. There is much to be learnt from one´s dark side…wwwooaaa!!
